Our 10-week adult clay courses are the perfect opportunity for both beginners, intermediate and advanced clay artists to learn about clay and have the time and space to develop skills while having fun.
Our resident instructors will demonstrate clay techniques including wedging, making and building with slabs, pinching/coiling, and wheel throwing methods to create sculptural or functional pieces to use in your own home. Glazing, studio safety and etiquette will also be discussed.
All work will be fired here at the studio. Tuition includes the first 25 pound bag of clay, and the glazing and firing fees of this clay. Additional bags of clay, both new or reclaim, will be available for purchase throughout the session, and include the cost of glazing and firing fees. No outside clays or glazes are allowed in the RLCC studio.
Limited studio tools are available to share. RLCC offers a selection of tools available for purchase, and you are welcome to bring your own.
A private shelf will be provided for each student enrolled to store their work and/or tools. Please note that our studio is a public work space, and RLCC is not responsible for belongings stored on your shelf.
Students also have studio access outside of class time, during normal gallery hours, and when other events have not been scheduled:
